Nairobi - The National Police Service has stepped up its pursuit of a gang that raided a petrol station at Adams Arcade on Ngong Road.

The armed gang are alleged to have made away with petroleum products valued at at least KSh 500,000.

According to NTV Kenya, the police report indicated that the gang arrived at the petrol station in a car like regular customers.

Posing as customers, the gang asked for directions to an eatery where they could have a cup of tea.

The police said that it was during this conversation that the gunmen made their intentions known to the attendant.

How did gunmen rob Ngong Road petrol station

One of the armed men reportedly got out of the car, pushed the attendant into one of the rooms and ordered him to lie down.

The man proceeded to tie his hands behind his back before continuing with his activities in the shop.

He was joined by his three accomplices in the sales room, where a variety of oil products are sold.

The men packed several oil products into a sack and loaded them into their vehicle before driving off.

A team of detectives is examining a CCTV from the station to see if they can identify the gang behind the attack.

How police arrested Siaya's wanted criminal

Elsewhere, police in Nairobi arrested the most wanted criminal behind the brutal murder of a police officer who was escorting examination papers in Siaya county.

In a statement on Wednesday, January 31, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) celebrated the arrest of Edward Wanya Mukanga, alias Abu Naiyah.

DCI said Mukanga, aged 34, was arrested in Nairobi's Dandora slum on Friday, January 26, following a tip from members of the public.
