Former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko recognised and rewarded a hardworking lady's efforts.

The businesswoman came in contact with the philanthropist as she went about her business, selling roasted groundnuts.

Promote small-scale business, Sonko

She was selling to a few customers when she encountered the politician who also asked her to sell some to him.

"Promoting the people who sell njugu and other small-scale business people is good," he captioned.

Selling groundnuts in Kilimani

The woman disclosed she sold her groundnuts at KSh 50 per packet as she measured some for Sonko.

Sonko asked her how much she bought 1kg for, and she said KSh 3,000 as Sonko reached out into his pockets.

She also disclosed she came from Kawangware and sold her products in Kilimani and its neighbouring zones.

Sonko gave her KSh 6,000 and told her to boost her business, make a profit and keep all the money to herself as she helped her kids.

Sonko offers woman who tattooed his image on her thigh job

Separately, Sonko was moved by the urgent appeal of the woman who tattooed his image on her thigh as she sought any employment to support her children.

Mary Njoki stated she had neither familial support nor relatives surrounding her to rely on to help educate her children and care for her bills.

Sonko offered to give her a job as he sought assistance on the opportunity to provide her.
