Peter Salasya Slams MP Atandi For Failing To Recognise Him At General Ogolla's Burial: "Hujui Mimi?"

Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has explained his long-standing beef with Alego Usonga MP Samwel Atandi.

He said this in relation to MP Atandi ignoring and failing to recognise him as an MP during General Francis Ogolla's burial service despite him sitting in the front row.

"It was intentional because we had personal differences on our 13th parliament Whats App group until the clerk of the National Assembly called me to cool down," he said.

He added that he abused Samwel Atandi, telling him that he was unlike him, who depended on others to get leadership roles.

He expressed anger, saying Atandi disrespected him in public by not recognizing him. He asserted that he would continue to be an MP no matter what he did.

"I was mad at this person. You know one day I will become the president of Kenya and he would need my help and I would tell him that he was disrespectful," Salasya said.

Salasya slams Babu Owino

This is not the first time that Salasya has caused bad blood between him and his counterparts.

The Mumias East MP engaged in an online spat with Embakasi East MP Babu Owino over the findings of a survey that ranked lawmakers as per their performance.

In a mission to find out the lawmakers living up to their mandate since getting into office, Politrack undertook research between March and April in 2023

MP would then come out to dismiss the findings, which he claimed had been sponsored. Salasya argued that he is among the lawmakers doing a commendable job, and his missing in the rankings pointed to a bogus survey.

Responding to his colleague, Babu explained that performance was the main parameter in the survey as opposed to what he termed as comedy, which he suggested is synonymous with him.

Salasya advised to stop fighting with leaders

Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi advised his Mumias East counterpart, Peter Salasya, to avoid creating chaos with other leaders.

While speaking during a meeting in Dar es Salaam on February 2, Sudi noted that Salasya's habit of causing a feud with his counterparts could affect his reputation.

He emphasised the importance of staying focused on delivering the promised manifestos, as they were freely elected by constituents.
