Rita Waeni's Father Claims Her Ex-Boyfriend's Mum Visited His Daughter: "Made Her Uneasy"

Rita Waeni's death is still under investigation, weeks after she was killed by an unknown person at an Airbnb in Roysambu.

Her cruel death shocked many after graphic images emerged showing the manner in which her perpetrator took her life.

What Rita Waeni's ex-boyfriend did to her

In a new interview on TV47, the deceased's parents opened up about a little-known ex-boyfriend who had previously threatened the young lass.

"She informed me that there was a previous boyfriend, Rita's boyfriend, with whom from January was not together, and for that reason, someone had created an account, threatening my daughter, and at the end of the day, they came and realised that it was the boyfriend," said Rita's mother.

The family later discovered that the ex-boyfriend had been pursuing her for the better part of last year after an ugly break-up in early 2023.

Rita Waeni's father exposes mum of daughter's ex

Rita's mum further claimed that her daughter kept getting threats from unknown accounts and that the ex-boyfriend, together with other people, would visit her hostel.

"I understand the mother of this boy would visit my daughter at her place of residence at JKUAT and this was not something we knew. We only came to learn of it when my daughter talked to her mother about that breakup. This made her a bit uneasy because she had to sometimes spend time in Syokimau rather than in college," said Rita's father.

Airbnb manager where Waeni was killed speaks

Day after Waeni's death hit the headlines, the lady who was managing the Airbnb spoke about the incident.

According to Risper Muthoni, she learnt about the murder through the caretaker of the apartment, who saw polythene bags on the stairs and a blood-stained bedsheet.

She revealed the suspect rented out the Airbnb on Saturday, January 13 at 3 pm and confirmed that she gave the police CCTV footage of where he picked up the key.
