How Webuye accident occurred

Sikika Road Safety shared that a matatu collided with a trailer at a spot along the Webuye-Malaba Highway.

The accident occurred at the Kunywa Bridge in the Matisi area.

Sources from the scene revealed two people died on the spot.

"From the news that we are receiving from the person on the ground, as of now we have lost two people on the spot, while others have been rushed to the hospital by well wishers and are sustaining serious injuries," revealed Sikika.

Photos from the scene showed an irredeemable wreck of the PSV, which suffered from the impact of the crash.

Police and other rescues showed up at the scene.

Those severely injured were rushed to nearby health facilities.

Police officer killed in Kakamega accident

This came a few days after another crash in Kakamega county, where a law enforcer attached to the Fort Tenan Police Station in Kericho died.

He was hit by a heavy trailer on the morning of Thursday, April 11. ]

The heavy mover was on its way to Eldoret from Webuye when it rammed into two motorcycles in the Mwamba area of Turbo in Kakamega's Lugari sub-county.

One of the riders was the officer who died on the spot as the driver of the heavy truck fled the accident scene.

Four others were severely injured at the scene and were rushed to the Turbo Sub-County Hospital before they were later referred to Eldoret's Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Eyewitnesses shared that the cop was riding in the same direction as the truck, which overturned and fell over him.

Confirming the tragedy, Lugari Sub County Police Commander Bernard Ngungu revealed the deceased cop was on his annual leave.

The body was taken to the Kimbilio morgue in Turbo.
