Vihiga: Young Girl Goes Missing After Visiting Former High School To Do Clearance

When Laura Cathy Otieno left her parents' house in Nairobi to travel to Vihiga county, nothing seemed unusual.

The 18-year-old had been invited to her former school, Mudavadi Girls High School, for a weekend edition.

What was Laura doing before she disappeared?

Her mother, Linda Jackline Oyugi, told TUKO.co.ke that her daughter intended to use the opportunity to run several errands.

"She had applied for her national ID from Kisumu, so she went to pick it up, do clearance from school then return to Nairobi as she is set to join Kenyatta University," the distressed mother explained.

Laura, who had been operating from her rural home in Kisumu, spent Sunday night at her former teacher's house before leaving at around 7 am.

Details indicate that a motorcycle rider dropped her off at Majengo, where she boarded a matatu back to Kisumu.

Where was Laura's case reported?

From that moment, her phone rang unanswered before going off around 11:30 am and has remained unreachable.

Laura's mother added that the missing girl was last seen wearing a black skirt and a white pullover.

The missing person's case was reported at Mbale Police Station on May 28 under OB number 33/28/05/2024.

Linda and her husband, George Otieno, are distraught and have urged anyone with information on Laura's whereabouts to come forward.
