Pregnant first-year student goes viral

19-year-old Whitney Muniko and her lover, Warren Frank, went viral on TikTok after announcing the pregnancy.

The first-year student’s pregnancy divided the opinions of Kenyans online.

Netizens on social media started advising her on her choices, with some opining that she was still too young to conceive. Others noted that Whitney and her lover might stick together till they were old and grey, but she should focus on her studies.

Speaking to TUKO Extra, the couple recounted learning that they would be parents for the first time.

Warren admitted that the news was unexpected.

"I was shocked, just that I never told you. It happened during your safe days.”

The dad-to-be said they made a mistake by miscalculating her safe days, leading to the pregnancy and was not ready for the consequences.

"I didn't see it coming because I could not predict it.”

Whitney said that when they started dating, Warren said if she mistakenly got pregnant, they would keep the child,

“It is one thing to say it and another to do it,” he said.
