Eldoret, Uasin Gishu - Rofam Campus-Royal Family International Church's pastor has gone into hiding after defrauding unsuspecting congregants of millions.

Seko Silas launched a forex firm, De La Vie Consult, where he persuaded church members to invest with the promise of a 30% monthly return.

According to victims who spoke to Citizen TV, Apostle Seko initially fulfilled his promises until December 2023, when the situation changed dramatically.

"I joined in July 2023 and was paid until December 2023. Since then we have not received any payment. I borrowed the money from a Sacco and now when we ask, we are urged to be patient. It has become difficult to trust church elders. They are the ones who should offer guidance, but that is no longer the case," said Ebby Atemo, a victim.
"As a family, we have lost over KSh 3 million. If you invest KSh 100,000 you are paid KSh 30,000 for 12 months," another victim disclosed.

Despite this, the preacher maintains that disgruntled members should not speak negatively about the organisation that has supported them.

He asserted that his firm would recover and the victims would eventually be compensated, though he acknowledged that they were facing some challenges.

"DLV Consult has been feeding them. It has been their major source of income. You can never bite a hand that feeds you. You cannot urinate on a plate that you eat from. A real man has to work, and I have secured the entire organisation they will invest within our Sacco and organisation," said the preacher.

Eldoret residents lose millions to job scammer

In other news, over 300 residents of Eldoret City lamented after losing millions to Novice Global agency in a major abroad job scheme.

The company's owner, Gilbert Onkok, took at least KSh 300,000 from the victims to connect them to better opportunities in Canada.

The victims believed in Onkok because he had lived in Canada and hailed from the same region as them.
