Bahati Sheds Tears In Emotional Tribute At Mr Seed's Mum's Memorial Service: "Alikuwa Ananiamini"

Kenyan musician Bahati has shed tears while paying glowing tribute at Mr Seed's mum's memorial service.

The father of five revealed that he received the news of the death of Mr Seed's mum while outside the country.

He said that it was difficult for him to accept the death of Seed's mum, and he took a break from his online activities.

"I got the news when I was outside the country. I was performing in Dubai, and I know artistes understand how hard it is when you go to a different country to perform. It's difficult to do some things. I remember I had a tiff with the promoter, saying I did not advertise the show enough because I remember after I posted this, I took a two-day break online," he said.

Did Bahati and Mr Seed live together while in Mathare?

Bahati said that he and Mr Seed met as young boys in Mathare and recalled the times they ate at his home.

Living in slums, Bahati said having food wasn't easy and thanked his mum for tolerating him as a young boy.

"This is not just Mr Seed's mum, this has been my mother for a very critical time of my life. I know most of you know my story. We met with Seed as young dancers in Mathare. We ate at Seed's house so much that it brought problems in her marriage. After I lost my parents, I went to the children's home for some part. When I got out, I used to eat at any house," he said.

The musician said Seed's mum had so much hope in him and always encouraged him to study hard.

"I moved into their house, and when I moved there, he did not tell his mum that I had moved in, but she embraced me, and I went to secondary school. She used to believe in me so much, and she had hope in me. After form four, she saw me starting my music career. She saw me struggling. Even when I did my first engagement to my wife Diana, she made me an outfit," Bahati added.

How Mr Seed eulogised his mum at her memorial

Dressed in an all-black outfit, Mr Seed, while holding the microphone, paused after saying how much he would miss his mum and started crying.

At some point, he squatted while deeply crying, forcing Bahati and others to go and stand by his side.

They then helped him up and lit his candle before giving him space to perform one of his songs.
