Trans Nzoia - Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has hosted 40 registered youth groups across Matisi Ward.

On Sunday, August 25, Amisi hosted the group leaders of 40 groups from various sectors, including hustlers, Juakali, and boda boda riders, at his Matisi home in Kitale.

How many youths will benefit from Caleb Amisi's donation

During the breakfast meeting, Amisi donated KSh 2 million to the youth groups, which he said would enable the groups to start income-generating activities for over 1,500 members.

The youthful lawmaker said the donation was part of his 7-year-old Vijana Power Programme, which aims to empower youth economically.

"I have today, among other initiatives , supported them with my personal seed money of KSh 2m to begin their start-up business and income generating activities. This is the first batch of my now 7-year-old Vijana Power Program geared towards involving youth in the social and economic development of our nation as well as the fight against crime, joblessness, and idleness," Amisi said.

What Caleb Amisi said about youth empowerment

The ODM lawmaker has similar activities in Tiwan, Kinyoro, Machewa and Saboti wards.

Amisi urged elected leaders not to ignore the plights of the society's many unemployed and educated youths.

"The youth of a nation are the trustees of posterity, and we must never ignore the young, energetic, educated, vicious, idle, jobless ,leaderless, and future less masses of young people in the streets.
Ruto regime has failed us, but I shall do all I can within my limited resources to support where I can. Most of them have identified job opportunities that we shall be linking them to various companies locally and international. Kenya needs a renaissance," he stated.

Why Kipchumba Murkomen launched football tournament

Meanwhile, Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry nominee Kipchumba Murkomen outlined plans to empower the youth.

He has launched the North Rift OKM Peace Football Tournament to empower the youth and sensitise the public in the affected areas on the importance of peace.

Murkomen pledged to run his new docket with humility and diligence after constant backlash from the Kenyan public over his conduct.
