Faith Kipyegon Excited After Spotting Giant Billboard With Her Name: “Welcome To Kenya”

Faith Kipyegon was visibly excited after spotting one of the numerous billboards with her name and pictures across the country.

Kipyegon's place in the storied history of Kenyan sports is undoubtedly guaranteed after years of sustained achievements and breaking records.

Faith Kipyegon's main achievements

She recently became the first person to win three consecutive Olympic titles in the 1500m. Kipyegon made easy work of the rest of the field to storm to victory at the Olympic Games held in Paris last month.

The mother of one is also a three-time 1500m world champion and the reigning world champion in the 5000m as well. Kipyegon also holds the world record in the 1500m after running an impeccable 3:49.04 in July.

Kipyegon excited to see herself on billboard

Kipyegon's face has been plastered on a couple of billboards across the country by telco giant Safaricom. In a video posted on her TikTok account, the triple Olympic champion was elated to see herself on one of the billboards along Airport Road.

She matched the video with popular Catholic tune, 'Moyo Wangu Wamtukuza'

Kenyans in the comment section shared in her joy with @dantez, saying,

"She's humble, resilient, determined and always hopeful, and she has faith .....She is Faith Kipyegon ....natural source of happiness for us Kenyans."

Kipyegon recently won the Diamond League trophy for the fifth time after another dominant showing in Brussels. She will close her season at the Athlos NYC event in New York on September 26.

Kipyegon to compete at Athlos NYC

As TUKO.co.ke reported, the Athlos NYC event is a brainchild of Alexis Ohanian, the husband of tennis great Serena Williams.

The event will be a women-only event with six events. Kipyegon will grace the Athlos NYC inaugural edition, which will be held at the Icahn Stadium.

She will compete in her favourite 1500m.
