When was Sarafina's screening?

With an incredible storyline, set, and props that made the play come to life, the devoted cast ensured that the audience got their money's worth.

What was noticeable from each scene was how quickly the stage was set up for the next and how the actors ensured they kept the audience glued to the story.

Sarafina, the lead actress, made her character proud with her great show of compassion, love, and fighting for what she believed in. The supporting cast was also impressive in their own way.

What did Helen Mtawal do at Sarafina musical?

Hellen Mtawali, a seasoned star and former Tusker Project fame coach, ended up being the audience's favourite with hilarious ad-libs such as "anguka nayo" which left everyone in stitches.

From the police actors, the students, the teachers and others, everyone's acting was on point, which gave the play a lively atmosphere and pulled the fans' emotions.

The singing and dancing were also spectacular, as the actors showed how well they had prepared to ensure they got everything right.

Two shooting scenes in which the characters of Fire and Crocodile were shot while fighting for their freedom left the audience gasping for air with how real and intense they were, something that is not common with other plays.

The whole production left a mark and showed how far the Kenyan industry has gone to ensure quality production.

The similarities to the Kenyan Gen Z Maandamano, with the different scenes that displayed police brutality, abductions, killings and people's bravery to fight for their rights, left some of the audience emotionally attached to the film, a feeling that was very special.

The musical will be shown at the theatre until Sunday and will also have a second run from Thursday, August 22, to Sunday, August 25.

This came after one of her fans claimed on social media that the late playwright used to abuse Khumalo.
