Nairobi County's Environment Chief Officer, Geoffrey Mosiria, has once again attempted to reduce noise in a residential area after receiving complaints about a church in Mwiki, Kasarani.

Mosiria has been doing rounds in Nairobi, which has, at some point, led to altercations with people enjoying their loud music.

Why Geoffrey Mosiria is fighting noise pollution

The Nairobi county official told TUKO.co.ke that they had targeted 10 entertainment clubs and three churches whose operations had contravened the law.

"Some were operating in residential areas and were playing beyond the required sound limit. We shall continue with the operations until owners abide by the law. We shall continue with the crackdown today and it will be our daily routine work. We must restore order in this city," he said.

Mosiria shared a video on his TikTok page showing how they stormed an empty church with only a worship team and took the microphones before returning them later.

In the video, he could be heard explaining that although he is also saved, the church should consider those living in the residential area.

"Today, we are just giving you a verbal warning. I am also saved, and I would like to see the 'sheep' coming to church, but they are complaining about the noise. It is better to sing without the microphone," he told the church's pastor.

His gesture has, however, sparked mixed reactions online, with many accusing him of attaching churches.

Jalang'o's baby mama complains about loud mosque

Elsewhere, Cheptoek Boyo asked the county government of Nairobi to help them resolve the noise pollution issue caused by a mosque in South C.

According to Jalang'o's baby mama, they started feeling the impact of the noise in December 2022, and they wanted the mosque to reduce the noise or be closed.

She started an online petition that over 180 people signed, and she called on Kenyans to help her secure her hood.
