The governor had promised him employment as a sound engineer post-election. However, Kirema alleges that once Mwangaza took office, he was ignored.

"She promised to appoint me as the county's sound engineer, which is why I dedicated myself to her campaign. I installed power inverters in her Rav4 car and a lorry, and did so many other jobs, and actively supported her campaign through my social media channels," he said.

He noted that he had a working relationship with Murega Baichu, Mwangaza’s husband, as the governor reportedly avoided direct association with him.

Kirema claimed that he has not been paid the KSh 35,000 owed to him and that Mwangaza failed to assist his children with bursaries or grants, despite his significant role in seeing her win the election and the evident failure of awarding him a job.

The devastated father who alleges to have worked with various senior county officials, shared messages depicting how his numerous attempts to contact Mwangaza and her staff for job opportunities—both for himself and his wife, a pharmacist—failed.

"She owes me KSh 35,000, and since taking office, the governor has consistently frustrated me. I have never received even a cup of tea, transportation fare, or lunch from her. Despite sending numerous messages and sharing photos from her campaign events, I have received no response," he added.

How did Kirema react to Mwangaza's impeachment?

When the 43-year-old learned of Mwangaza's impeachment, he recalled a prophecy he had made about the governor's downfall.

He asserted that he shared the prophecy and warned her about the challenges she would face during her term.

Kirema felt a sense of relief, believing that the governor's impeachment was a vindication for those she had wronged.

"I am very happy because I believe the debt remedy is repayment. At least God has paid us back. If you owe someone, repay the debt. I have evidence. Let us stop tarnishing the reputation of the people of Meru because of one individual. She was bad from the onset but we were blinded," said Kirema.
