US-based Kenyan Wairimu Kimani has threatened her friend, who leaked an audio conversation between her and a businesswoman identified as Damaris, aka Dama, with dire consequences.

What is Wairimu's leaked audio about?

On September 9, audio between the two women leaked online, in which they appeared to have been discussing Bishop Muthee Kiengei of the Jesus Compassion Ministry (JCM ) church, his wife and way of life.

The conversation touched on Kiengei's alleged relationship with Dama, his dear wife, how he spends his free time and the car he used to drive, among other things.

A Facebook post shared by Naomi Ogutu, a woman claiming to be Wairimu's friend, revealed legally obtained private messages, unfiltered from Wairimu herself.

"We have decided to hide the identity of the culprit who recorded the conversation since this is a legal matter. Wairimu is a honorable woman of God, let us not drag her name in the mud please!" said Ogutu.

Wairimu threatens to take legal action against Wambui

In the leaked WhatsApp texts, Wairimu is seen blasting her friend of 15 years for recording and leaking the audio, saying that it had reached Kiengei. On the other hand, the friend sounded surprised that the bishop got wind of the audio.

"Do you realise the damage you have caused? It has reached Kiengei; do you know I can take legal action against you? You hurt and violated my trust, Dama is devastated," said Wairimu.
"You knew that it was a private conversation, you should have told us to walk out of your house," Wambui shot back.

Wairimu's friend doesn't have legal papers

According to Wambui, she thought the audio would never reach Kiengei since they are in the US; she also trusted a friend with it.

"I need to figure out what to do but I swear to God you will be hearing from my lawyer. Recording a private conversation is a criminal offense, you will be hearing from my attorney Tamara Peterson," said the YouTuber.

In the texts, Wambui pleaded with Wairimu not to take her to court because she did not have legal papers to stay in the United States. She pledged to apologise to Dama, but her pleas seemed to fall on deaf ears.
