Dida's funeral was attended by thousands of mourners, including politicians and celebrities.

Kakamega governor Fernandes Barasa, former presidential candidate George Wajackoyah, Citizen TV's Lulu Hassan, and the actress's former castmates from the Sultana TV show were among the mourners.

When the body of Dida was lowered to the ground, close family members and friends were asked to throw soil in the grave.

Dida's parents and former castmates, including their boss, Lulu, were overwhelmed by emotions. Lulu was spotted wiping tears as a nun tried to comfort her.

Was Winnie Bwire married?

Winnie was in a relationship with fellow Mombasa-based actor, Dan Sonko, and they served couple goals for days before parting ways amicably in 2023.

On Sunday, September 15, during the memorial service of Dida, which was held at Deliverance Mt Zion Worship Centre in Mombasa county, his ex-fiance Sonko was present. The father of two paid a glowing tribute to Winnie, moving mourners to tears.

He narrated how they got engaged in 2020. Sonko narrated how she and Winnie were there for each other, recalling the day she was diagnosed with cancer in 2021 after their engagement.

The actor narrated how he lost his mind, and Winnie was there for him, revealing after she was diagnosed with cancer, they kept it a secret for a year before going public.
