The former county boss was also fined KSh 2 million with the option of eight years in jail on the charges of conflict of interest and fraudulently obtaining monies from the county coffers.

Besides, in the judgment seen by TUKO.co.ke, Lenolkulal was barred from running for office or getting an appointment to a public office until ten years lapse.

The ex-governor's accomplice, Hesbon Ndathi, was also fined KSh 83 million.

The others were each fined KSh 1 million with a four-year jail sentence in default.

Lenolkulal becomes the first former governor to risk years in jail after being implicated in corruption.

He however stated his plan to appeal the judgment in the Supreme Court.

As TUKO.co.ke previously reported, he was convicted on multiple charges, including the unlawful acquisition of public property.
