Murang'a county government has advertised 20 positions in its health department.

The devolved unit advertised the vacancies on its website and asked interested and qualified candidates to submit their applications online by Monday, September 30.

"Applicants should apply online using the link http://apply.muranga.go.ke on or before Monday, September 30, 2024. Applicants from other counties are encouraged to apply," the advert stated.

Which vacancies did Murang'a county announce?

1. Registered clinical officer - nine posts

Requirements:

• Diploma in clinical medicine and surgery or clinical medicine and community health.
• Certificate of registration from the Clinical Officers’ Council.
• Certificate in computer application skills.

2. Pharmacist

Requirements:

• Bachelor of pharmacy degree.
• Completed a one-year internship.
• Registration certificate by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
• Certificate in computer skills.

3. Medical officer - nine posts

Requirements:

• A bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degree from an institution recognised by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
• Completed a one-year internship at a recognised institution.
• Registration license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
• Certificate in computer skills.

4. Assistant director - medical services

Requirements:

• A bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degree from an institution recognised by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
• At least a minimum of three years of work experience preferably in telemedicine.
• Registration license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.

Which salary mistake should you avoid in interviews?

Hillary Lisimba, a CV expert, told TUKO.co.ke that candidates should not quote an exact figure when asked how much salary they expect.

Instead, he recommended that applicants research the specific job's salary and give a range.

"The first mistake is giving a specific number and sticking to it. You say KSh 100,000 and keep quiet. Offer them a range, and then let them decide," he explained.

Which jobs did BM Security announce?

In related news, BM Security announced a recruitment drive for security officers in Nairobi county and other Kenyan cities and towns.

Candidates were required to hold a minimum of a KCSE certificate and possess a certificate of good conduct.

The security firm noted that men should be between 26 and 40 years old, while ladies should be between 25 and 35.

Which jobs did Safaricom and NCBA advertise?

Elsewhere, Safaricom announced jobs for experienced roles, including M-Pesa API engineer, database administrator, and senior cyber defence centre analyst.

NCBA Bank also announced job openings for positions like data engineer, digital acquisitions lead, and network administrator, with application deadlines extending through September 2024.
