A disturbing incident occurred on Jogoo Road near the Uchumi stage involving a matatu and a group of notorious enforcers known as "Kamagera."

A passenger was injured in the incident and a matatu left in shambles after the crew refused to comply with the Kamagera's demands.

According to Sikika Road Safety, the Embassava bus was en route to town when it stopped at the Uchumi stage to drop off a passenger.

At this point, the Kamagera—a group known for extorting money from matatu crews—approached the vehicle and demanded payment.

When the conductor refused to hand over the money, the individual turned violent and assaulted him.

A passenger seated in the front of the matatu attempted to intervene, urging the Kamagera to stop the brutal attack.

Unfortunately, the passenger's plea was met with violence, as the assailants struck him on the back with a large stone, leaving him injured.

The chaos escalated further when the Kamagera shattered the matatu's windscreen and driver's window, causing significant damage to the vehicle.

The driver, conductor, and injured passenger later reported the matter to the authorities and were issued OB numbers.

In a swift response, the National Police Service launched an ambush operation that led to the arrest of the Kamagera involved in the attack.

The suspects are currently being held at Makongeni Police Station as investigations continue.
