Lamu - Lamu county has been plunged into grief following the death of Deputy Governor Raphael Munyua Ndung'u.

The DP reportedly died while receiving treatment treatment at a medical facility that is yet to be disclosed by his family.

In a statement, Lamu West MP Stanley Muthama confirmed his demise, terming him a dedicated servant of the county.

"It is with Profound shock and sorrow that I have received the News of the Passing on of our Lamu County Deputy Governor, Raphael Munyua Ndung'u who was ill and was undergoing treatment. Munyua served as the third Deputy Governor of Lamu and was a committed and dedicated servant of the people who endeavoured to achieve the best in his Career," Muthama said.

Muthama extended his prayers to the family of the departed, his friends, and the people of Lamu County.

He expressed hopes that divine grace and comfort would be bestowed upon them during this sorrowful time.
