  • Some women in Kenya are actively seeking different methods of contraception to avoid having more babies with their partners
  • This emerged after they watched a video on TikTok where a couple was fervently praying for a baby, but the woman was not serious about it because she didn't want another baby
  • The women gave reasons such as cheating husbands, lack of finances, not being treated well by their partners and having kids in quick succession as reasons for not getting more

A section of women in Kenya has shared taking contraception to avoid getting pregnant for their partners.

Why don't some women want new babies?

The ladies shared their decisions after watching a skit of a man and a woman praying for a baby, and yet the woman had already taken contraceptives to stop the pregnancy.

"Praying with my hubby for a baby with five years' implant in my body," read the caption of the video shared by @kikikahuraofficial.

Among the reasons given by the women were not being treated well by their partners during their last pregnancies and not having enough money for a big family and yet their husbands wanted more babies.

Some women also complained that their husbands cheated on them, and others had only planned for one child.

"I was in a relationship for three years with a cheater so I had implants done. After three years, he decided to marry another lady. Three months after their marriage I got married by his best friend and got pregnant. I am happily married," said Spice Ndegwa

While the ladies shared reasons for not getting pregnant again, others felt sorry for the men who were not having a say in anything.

Divinar Joseph says no more kids

Another story revealed that five years after gaining experience in raising quadruplets, Divinar Joseph said she would not give birth again.

That was an about-turn decision from what she said in an interview two years ago before real parenting kicked in

According to the mom of five, her earlier sentiments were when the little ones were still very young, and their needs were easier to meet.
