Kenyan teachers can now apply for open job opportunities in the US.
The US Embassy in Nairobi advertised job openings in the teaching field available in American universities.

Under the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Programme, the US seeks to employ teachers from 55 countries.

The embassy urged professional Kenyans to apply for the opportunities aimed at developing Americans' knowledge of foreign cultures and languages.
The programme aims to support language teaching assistantships in more than 35 languages at hundreds of U.S. institutions of higher education.
FLTA will offer educators from over 55 countries the opportunity to develop their professional skills and gain first-hand knowledge of the U.S, its culture, and its people.
"The FLTA programme brings language teachers from abroad to universities and colleges throughout the U.S where they serve as foreign language teaching assistants," read the job advert in part
What is the programme award for foreign teachers?
The pioneering programme exposes students to native speakers who introduce an energetic, up-to-date cultural component to the foreign language classroom and student life in general.
The Fulbright FLTA Programme awards approximately 300 grants annually to educators to teach over 35 languages on campuses across the United States.
Qualified applicants will benefit from enrichment activities, health plan, J-1 visa sponsorship and funding support.
How to Apply to for US teaching jobs
The embassy invited interested and qualified candidates to apply through the binational Fulbright Commission or the embassy office.
"Applications are now open for the 2025 Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program. Apply here by September 10," he embassy wrote on its X platform handle.
Applicants must submit their details online on or before September 10, 2024.
Kenyan teachers employed in the US
This came after hundreds of Kenyan teachers secured lucrative jobs in the United States.
The teachers were released during a flag-off ceremony attended by government officials.
They were the beneficiaries of a government initiative to help citizens find greener pastures abroad.
