Nairobi - A smiling face, last wave, and a confident man riding off into the distance to work for his family is the last memory Tiana Kariuki will ever have of her husband, Gideon Mwaura.

Search for Mwaura ends up in a morgue

In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Tiana revealed she was just an 18-year-old mum of two who used to stay at home, and her husband did a very good job of providing for them.

"He used to take good care of our needs, and his people loved us," she said.

Tiana's husband never returned after he left that fateful day; she waited for him to no avail.

"I notified his people, and they said it's okay I should start searching for him. His colleagues at the Githurai roundabout told me that a customer approached him and asked to be taken to Kahawa West," said Tiana.
"I searched around the area and some people finally told me that they saw his dead body and took it to City Mortuary," said Tiana.

Mwaura's sister hits Tiana with wood

She notified everyone, but sadly, the people supposed to support and comfort Tiana turned on her.

"His mother gave me KSh 1 and told me to use it to raise the baby," said the mother of two.
"His sister came to my house, hit me with a thick piece of wood and broke my teeth. she took everything from the house and left," she added.

Tiana turned to her mum, but the older woman was categorical that Tiana left her house without kids and she should, therefore, not bring kids to the house.

"My sisters used to eat and deny my kids and I food. So I left them back home and came to Nairobi to look for a job so that I can feed my children," she said.
"Iam looking for any job so that I can feed my children. ANyone with leads please help me," she said.

In-laws demolish woman's house

In another story, Esther Jakwoyo's in-laws kicked her out of her matrimonial home and demolished the house after her husband died in 2001.

She stated that after her husband's death, his brother's son claimed the land on which he had built their house.

Jakwoyo told Lady Morra she moved to church after her house was ruthlessly demolished.
