Hailing from Kenya, they've made it their mission to promote Kenyan coffee by sourcing and roasting various coffee beans from different regions of the country.

Their company not only introduces consumers to the rich flavours of Kenyan coffee but also supports local farmers by providing them with a platform to showcase their products.

According to Faisal, his motivation to enter the coffee business was deeply personal.

Faisal also sails boat for business

"I think I was just ahead of my family and started selling coffee. There's this belief that people who are teachers are paid enough money to support middle-class families," Faisal explained.
My great-grandfather managed to educate ten children solely through coffee farming, but that era has faded away. miss those times when coffee farming alone could sustain families and their children's education," he added.

Beyond the aroma of freshly roasted coffee, Faisal finds solace in the open waters of the Pacific Ocean.

He has been running a sailing business, braving the challenges of the waves and weather since 2018.

His entrepreneurial spirit and diverse skill set have allowed him to his two boats, navigating the complexities of business and the ocean's vastness.

Faisal academic background

Faisal's academic journey has been as unconventional as his entrepreneurial path. Born in Machakos, he attended school in Kangundo before returning to Machakos.

His pursuit of education led him to the University of Nairobi, but he later accepted a scholarship to study journalism at the University of Portland in the US.

However, realising that journalism might not align with his long-term goals, he boldly chose to switch gears and pursue a doctorate in nursing.

Faisal's success in the coffee and sailing industries has fueled his advocacy for fair compensation for coffee farmers and fostering a deeper connection between producers and consumers.

He strongly recommends initiatives like coffee-tasting camps to empower farmers to understand the quality of their products and engage with consumers on a more personal level.

Separately, George Mbugua is a go-getter per excellence, thanks to an inert passion for success that has always burned inside him since his days as a young boy in Kiambu county.

Even at that young age, one of his biggest desires was to relocate to the US after hearing about an uncle who was based there and doing great things for himself.

Speaking to Mkenya Marekani TV, the now-father of two disclosed that he left Kenya for the US in 2001 on a mission to further his studies.

Mbugua says that he struggled with the language during his initial days, having come from a community known for its heavy accent.
