Nairobi - Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has revealed why ODM leader Raila Odinga failed to win elections despite him enjoying the support of former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a documentary titled 'The Game of Might and Mind' by Enock Sikolia, the ODM MP claimed that Raila never had the support of the deep state as it was being portrayed in the public sphere.

"William Ruto simply had the money, the deep state and the energy. You can't defeat such a candidate," Amisi said.

While dismissing the earlier perceptions that Raila had the deep state at his disposal during the campaigns, Amisi argued that Ruto had already managed to get the 'real deep state' support.

"The deep state had been taken by William Ruto a long time ago; the deep state that was with the handshake was just a shell of a deep state. The real deep had gone," he stated.

According to the ODM lawmaker, Uhuru should have informed the former prime minister early enough that he had no state machinery to help Raila win the 2022 elections.

"Uhuru was not honest enough that the deep state had gone. On the step of Harambee House when he was greeting Baba's hand, I wish Uhuru whispered to Raila and said, by the way, I have no deep state," he noted.

Alai says Jubilee Party is a burden to ODM

In a related story, Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai downplayed the significance of former president and Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party.

In a statement, Alai stated that the ODM party, only finds value in the Wiper Party, led by Kalonzo Musyoka and the Democratic Alliance Party of Kenya(DAP-K), led by Eugene Wamalwa.

"ODM currently finds value in a coalition with Wiper and DAP-K. Others are donkeys we have to whip to make any impact," said Alai.

Without mentioning names, the city MCA said other parties in the opposition coalitions were only stressing the ODM party.

"The others are stressing ODM with lots of funny rendezvous while in a real sense, they wasted our votes, handed over power to someone they want us to call enemy, but they call them "my President," he stated.
