KSh 7m parcel lost in custody of Fargo Courier staffers

They worked in cahoots with other suspects who did not appear in court.

People Daily newspaper reported that the parcel in question had 100 pieces of mobile phones, of the Oppo Reno 11 make, when it disappeared,

The phones were cumulatively valued at KSh 7 million.

The court heard that Maingi and Kyalo, a duo from the four, stole the parcel en route to Eldoret from Nairobi before getting help from the other two to hide its contents.

In their defence, their lawyer argued that they had young families that depended on them, pleading for their freedom on lenient bond terms.

The court acceded to the request, releasing the suspects on a KSh 3 million bond with an alternative of KSh 1.5 million cash bail.

The case was put up for mention on June 10.

Wells Fargo's guards disappear with Quickmart's KSh 94m

In a separate story filed by TUKO.co.ke last year, two employees of Wells Fargo in Nairobi disappeared with KSh 94 million belonging to Quickmart supermarket.

The security firm staffers, identified as Daniel Mungai, crew commander and driver Anthony Nduiki, had been assigned to ferry the monies to a bank in the city but disappeared with them on Monday, November 6.

They vanished aboard an Isuzu canter.

Police gathered that the guards had collected the cash as usual, ready to bank it, but sneaked out without a police escort, as was the norm.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives in Lang'ata took over the matter.
