Anne Waiguru Emotional As Governors Surprise Her With Cake On Her Birthday

Kirinyaga governor and chairperson of the Council of Governors (CoG) Anne Waiguru has expressed joy and elation after fellow governors surprised her on her birthday.

The surprise came after the governors' meeting to discuss issues affecting counties, including the doctors' strike, which has been on for over a month now.

The county boss took to social media to express gratitude to her colleagues.

"Lovely birthday surprise after a very tough CoG meeting. Thank you, yes s really honored to serve alongside you all. God bless you abundantly," Waiguru said.

Numerous governors handed her bouquets, including Kisumu governor Anyang' Nyong'o.

She eventually cut a cake they bought for her as her colleagues watched on, smiling.

Netizens joined the governors in celebrating Waiguru's birthday, with some wishing her nothing but the best in her new life chapter.

Anne Waiguru shows off her living room on her birthday

As earlier reported, the county boss shared pictures of her sitting in a grey chair with blue throw on pillows.

Right next to her was an expensive-looking wooden table with patterned legs that had a cup of tea and a plate of arrow roots on it.

Behind Waiguru was a fireplace with numerous family photos, including of her husband, Kamotho Waiganjo.

Waiguru's living room has exposed rafters painted white against a white V-shaped ceiling.

The governor praised God for blessing her with the gift of life, quoting the book of Ecclesiastes 3:11 which says, "He made everything beautiful in its time".
