US President Joe Biden entertained President William Ruto with his favourite music genre during dinner at the White House on Thursday, May 23.

A gospel band and a country music star were hired to entertain Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto during the dinner.

Who were the hired musicians?

American gospel band Haword's Gospel Choir and three-time Grammy award winner Brad Paisley performed at the dinner.

Ruto, a firm believer in Christianity, enjoyed the melodies from the performances carefully selected by his host.

According to Debris Bernard, former social secretary for former president Barrack Obama, during an interview with CNN, White House entertainment is chosen according to guests' preferences and later aligned to suit the rest of the guests.

Who were the guests at the White House dinner?

The dinner was graced by big names in the US, including Obama, who attended briefly.

Other top guests at the dinner included former US President Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary Clinton, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, Hunter Biden, Melinda Gates, and Lester Holt.

Also in attendance were Michael McCaul, a Republican representative, Carol Mosley Braun, Sheryl Sandberg, and Sean Penn.

US TV channels take a break during William Ruto's address

Surprisingly, when Ruto started his address at the White House, American channels took commercial breaks.

According to a video compilation by CNN reporter Larry Madowo, most of the channels went on a break after Biden introduced Ruto to address the guest.
