In an inspiring act of kindness, a woman who goes by @eve_ty on TikTok has drawn attention to the plight of another patient at Mukurwe-ini Hospital in Nyeri.

Why was the woman in hospital?

This remarkable gesture has touched the hearts of many and galvanized support for a mother in dire need.

Eve, who herself is a patient at the same hospital with her baby, shared a heartfelt video on her TikTok account.

The video showed the devastated mother seated next to her eight-month-old baby, Biden Mwangi., who has been receiving treatment at the facility.

"She is wondering where she will get money to settle the bill for her eight-month-old baby," Eve captioned the video.
"Just a woman carrying the weight of the world in her shoulders...as a mother this has been tough to watch...she is right next to me...I wish I could do more," added Eve.

Wellwishers start raising funds

As of the time of Eve's posting, the outstanding bill stood at KSh 5,000.

In a subsequent update, Eve expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support and shared more about the situation.

"Guys guys guys...Thank you so much for your support. You should see mama Biden right now. She is so, so happy. She even bought us mandazi here in the hospital," Eve said.
"She was supposed to go live at 9:30am today but got cold feet and is a bit hesitant. She is so grateful, guys. Let's continue supporting her because she's still in dire need of finances.

According to Eve, the mum has other kids back at home who have not been attending school and needs to move because the doctors suspect the house she's in contributed to her child's illness.

Money sent to hospital paybill

Eve further encouraged people to contact Alice Kiama, the mother in need, directly or visit her at Mukurwe-ini Hospital.

She mentioned that while some funds were still needed to clear the bill, she remained hopeful and confident that they could reach the goal with the community's support.

She urged anyone interested in contributing to contact her personally for the hospital paybill number to ensure proper handling of the funds.

Eve's selfless act has helped alleviate the financial burden on another struggling mother and exemplified the power of community and compassion.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Biden Mwangi's mother, who has been in the hospital for more than 40 days, could not hide her gratitude to everyone who raised funds for her.

"Sina cha kuwaambia ila tu mungu awabariki an awaongeze. Mtoto anaendelea kupata nafuu. (I have nothing to say other than May God bless you and add you more. The baby is doing well)," she said.

Househelp admitted at KNH stuck with hand in stomach

In a separate story, TUKO.co.ke reported Millicent Okoth Odhambo was in pain as she was stuck with a hand inside her stomach due to an incomplete surgical procedure occasioned by a doctor's strike.

The young lady, who worked as a househelp, was admitted to the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) on February 18, 2024, after a horrible road accident at the Globe roundabout when she was going for her off days.
