The much-publicised event was organised by Wegesha's close friends and her family in the first marriage.

Her husband and teenage daughter were also in hand to light a candle as the charged revellers watched on, while others wailed in sorrow.

The event also doubled as a fundraiser for the dancer's burial, which was set for Tuesday, May 28, at Nyalkinyi Village, Kanyada, in Homa Bay.

Where will Sheila be buried?

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Wegesha's nephew Jano, The Governor, revealed that the entertainer's fanbase, family and friends in Nairobi will be able to view her body before it heads home for burial.

He explained that Kanyada is the home of Wegesha's first husband, Odoyo, who has amicably agreed to bury her.

"When a lady dies among the Luo, she is buried at the home of the man who paid dowry for her. In this case, Bamboo was just a boyfriend," he said.

He explained that Bamboo had never taken any dowry to her home, which would have been used to return the cows given by the first husband.

Wegesha's video surfaces after death

In another story, a video of Wegesha, who was allegedly killed by her husband, emerged, leaving many with mixed reactions.

The beautiful mum who loved to live large left many wondering why she did not walk out of her marital home before things escalated to fatal levels.

In the video, Wegesha happily danced, showing different moves while revellers watched in awe.
