Woman falls into river with baby on her back

In another story, Police launched investigations following the death of a 29-year-old woman and her 5-year-old child in Kabironi village, Kirinyaga county.

Gichugu sub-county Police Commander Johnson Wachira said the woman, identified as Moreen Wangui Munene, fell into Nyamindi River with her child strapped on her back and drowned.

"The matter has been reported to us, and investigations are in progress," Wachira said, as reported by Citizen Digital.

Wachira said police officers are presently working together with the residents in a bid to retrieve the bodies from the river.
