A police report indicates that 50-year-old Charles Orwa met his death after he allegedly hacked Francis Omondi, 45.
Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo stated that area Assistant Chief Noah Oluoch alerted officers about a murder incident in Luri 'B' village.
When police officers rushed to the scene, they found the bodies of Omondi and Orwa lying in a pool of blood.

According to the police report, a dispute erupted between the family of James Warambo and that of Orwa, but Omondi intervened.
In the process of intervening, Orwa picked up a panga and hacked Omondi to death.
Angry members of the public then descended on Orwa with thorough beatings, leading to his death.
The mob went to Orwa's house, burned down one permanent house and two semi-permanent houses, and then stabbed his son Marcel Ohoma in the thigh with a spear.

Meanwhile, a man was detained at the Kagumo-ini Police Station after confessing to killing his father on the evening of Monday, May 20.
The 35-year-old presented himself at the station of his own volition.
Sources indicate that upon his father's turning down his request for the evening meal, the irked middle-aged suspect took up a hammer and descended on him.
The victim succumbed to the injuries on the spot, with the body left lying in a pool of blood within the homestead.
