State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed indicated that Wednesday, May 22, officially marks the beginning of Ruto's three-day State visit to the United States of America at President Joe Biden's invitation.

Ruto and Mama Rachel arrived at Joint Andrews Air Force Base, where they were welcomed by US First Lady Jill Biden before their scheduled events.

Ruto's arrival ceremony featured the traditional pomp and circumstance befitting a state visit, highlighting the diplomatic ties between the two nations.

"President William Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto arrive at Andrews Air Force Base and are received by First Lady Jill Biden with full ceremonial state honours, as the 3-day State Visit to the U.S. officially kicks off today," Hussein said while sharing the video of Ruto's arrival.

This is the second phase of the US State Visit after Atlanta, where the President pitched camp for two days and promoted Kenya as a top investment destination in Africa.

Five-year Coca-Cola money plan for Kenya

Meanwhile, beverage maker Coca-Cola announced plans to invest KSh 23 billion in Kenya.

This announcement was revealed by President William Ruto, who visited the company’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to Ruto, Coca-Cola will inject money into the Kenyan economy within the next five years to expand its business operations. One of its first projects will be a new bottling plant worth KSh 175 million.
