A Kenyan woman using the X handle @Remzsx has recalled how her ex dumped her after introducing him to her parents.

According to the devastated lady, her man ditched her because he thought they were poor and would eventually rely on him financially.

Woman shares how poverty ended her relationship

Remzsx shared a long thread on her X page, which sparked mixed reactions from social media users who encouraged her with kind words.

Part of what she wrote read:

"My boyfriend of more than a year requested to see my parents. He met them two weeks ago, and after that, things changed between us. His calls reduced, and he hardly responded to my messages. I tried asking him why, but he didn't say anything. On the fifth day, I called him 3 times, and he didn't pick up. 30 minutes after my calls, he sent me a message that he could not continue with the relationship and that he saw poverty in my family."

Remzsx added that her boyfriend told her that he noticed that they did not have a good chair to host visitors and that they were drinking tap water

"He said our ceiling is already damaged and he was lucky it didn't fall on him and that he can't get into a family that will depend on him for financial help. After reading his message, I got so broken, and my spirit has been down since. I responded to him with a voice message, that I never hid my family's financial status from him. He said he didn't know it was that bad," she added.
