A job applicant is grappling with a critical decision before her final interview for a position at a public agency.

UrbanFyre disclosed on Reddit that she is confused about whether or not to reveal her pregnancy to potential employers.

Discovered pregnancy after job interview

She explained that she applied for the role in March, with the first interview in April.

Just a day after this initial interview, she discovered she was pregnant.

By the time her second interview was scheduled for May 13, she was already nine weeks along but chose not to disclose her pregnancy.

"I was already nine weeks pregnant and didn't say anything because I figured if I got the job, I could tell them I just found out, and the timing would align with that," she revealed.

With a third and final interview scheduled for this Thursday, she is 11 weeks pregnant.

Will pregnancy affect her chances?

If she receives a job offer and gives the customary two weeks' notice at her current position, she will likely start her new job in mid-June.

By then, she will be around 14-15 weeks pregnant and potentially begin to show.

"While I know there is no legal requirement to disclose, I worry that it will appear disingenuous if I show up to work on my first day looking obviously pregnant," she narrated.

She also worries that disclosing her pregnancy now, with the decision down to her and one other candidate, might unfairly tip the scales against her.

Pregnant woman in distress over genotype mismatch

In an unrelated story, a young lady broke down in tears after discovering that her genotype doesn't match her lover's.

In a video, the lady who claimed to be two months pregnant said she checked the genotype after finding out that she was heavy.

According to her, she has been in the relationship for five years and had a high expectation that it would lead to marriage.

Dr Nyachira Muthiga told TUKO.co.ke that a genetic mismatch means the baby stands a high risk of being born with a condition like Down's syndrome.
