The video of Derrick drowning as his lover helplessly watched has gone viral on social media.

His lover, who was at the beach with him in a viral video, could be seen wailing uncontrollably, and a friend held onto her.

Beth had asked for help to retrieve her lover's body in the clip's comment section. She wrote:

"That lady is me my husband drowned we are still here at the shores looking for him. Any information leading to finding him or help will be highly appreciated."

She later confirmed that his body was retrieved.
