A Kenyan based abroad has built a stylish mabati house in Kikuyu, Kiambu county and is making money from it.

The house, which cost KSh 350,000 to construct, is in a lush compound with numerous fruit trees, including avocados and banana stems.
The house is elevated from the ground and sits on metal rods. A staircase leads to the front door, which has a welcome sign.

The house used as an Airbnb features huge windows, swathing the inside with ample lighting.
“However, it was built six years ago, meaning the price could be higher now," Edna, the YouTuber who did the house tour, told TUKO.co.ke
The front door leads to the living room, which has a comfortable couch, TV, two dining seats, and an open kitchen on the other end.
The off-grid house, powered by solar panels, has a wooden floor and stylish modern lighting.
A mini corridor leads to the washroom and toilet area.
Another door along the corridor leads to the first and second bedrooms.
Kenyans were impressed by the design, and many asked about the contractor's number.

The entrepreneur shared with TUKO.co.ke about the construction process and the KSh 250,000 cost involved.
Evelyn said her house inspired many Kenyans and encouraged those with no home upcountry to follow suit.
