Kiambu Woman In Saudi Dies After Alleged Mistreatment By Boss, Her Painful Note Emerges

Kiambu - Grief and sorrow have engulfed the family of a woman who travelled abroad in search of greener pastures.

Joyce Wangari Mungoya went to Saudi Arabia in May 2022 following a job employment opportunity, where she met her death.

How Joyce Wangari Mungoya died

The woman passed away after alleged mistreatment from her Saudi boss following a series of disagreements.

A post by Facebook user Vincent Kipkoech detailed her work in the Gulf to fend for her family.

"According to her family, Wangari went to Saudi Arabia for greener pastures as a househelp. Her family contacted her agent back home after her phone went silent for months.

Because of frustrations from her agents in Kenya, the family were linked to another Kenyan lady living in Saudi who silently followed her last location, only to learn that Wangari was allegedly brutally murdered some months ago by her employer," the post read.

Wangari's family seeks justice

Wangari left a note in the agency's office appealing for help and asking for urgent assistance to return to Kenya.

The note was a call for help for the mistreatment she was going through, including being denied food by her supposedly cruel employer.

The grieving family appealed for help from the government to get justice for Wangari, who left behind three children, two of whom are in school.

"We want to bury her as soon as posisble but we would humbly request the government to intervene and investigate on what really happend to our kin," the source told TUKO.co.ke.

The woman was allegedly sick and requested help in a heartbreaking video to travel to Kenya for treatment.

The clip went viral, with several online users sharing the message widely in their efforts to help the woman.

However, help did not reach her as soon as she expected, and because of her deteriorated health, she died.

The heartbroken family of Lucy sought help to repatriate her body and give her a proper send-off.
