Macro Joseph Bukulu, who died due to heart-related complications, will be buried today, Sunday, August 25, in Kahama, Shinyanga district.

What did Marco Joseph tell his kids before death?

Marco's wife spoke to the press after his body arrived in Kahama ahead of his final rites.

The mother of four revealed that moments before he died, the Zabron Singers' soloist talked to his children and his mother.

She recalled how jovial he was as he spoke to his children; little did they know it would be his last day on earth.

"Aliniambia 'kesho naingia kwenye operation ujitahidi uje mapema.' Nilivyofika tukapiga story tukacheka. Niligia watoto simu walikuwa wanaenda shule wakaongea na baba yao. Wakamuuliza 'Baba unakuja lini?' Akawaambia 'nakuja wiki ijayo' (He told me, 'Tomorrow I'm going into surgery, try your best to come early'. When I arrived, we chatted and laughed. I called the children who were on their way to school, and they spoke to their father. They asked him when he was coming back, and he told them he would return next week)," she recalled.

The heartbroken widow recalled calling her mother-in-law to speak to her son, and she assured him all would be well.

"Nilimwambia mwanao anasumbuliwa na vidonda vya tumbo sikumwambia moyo. Niliogopa kumshtua (I told her your son he is suffering from ulcers, but I didn't mention it to him. I was afraid of startling him)," the teary widow shared.

She recalled the pastor's prayers for Marco before he was wheeled into the theatre.

"Akaniambia nakupenda mke wangu. Akanikumbatia akaondoka. Hakurudi tena. Nimehangaika sana (He told me he loves me. He hugged me and then went to theatre. He never came back. I have been struggling a lot)," she narrated as she wiped tears.

The grieving widow revealed she used to cry when Marco was hospitalised, and he kept telling her she would cry more when he was gone.

"Aliniambia mke wangu utalia sana hata nkifa. Utalia utazoea. Nimeshindwa kuzoea maumivu ni makali. Marco ameniwacha (He told me, 'My wife you will cry a lot when I die.' You will cry, and you will get used to it. I have failed to get used to the pain; it is intense. Marco has left me)," she said.
