Meru - Since schools reopened for the third term on August 26, 2024, the country has been grappling with a series of devastating fires.

The latest incident occurred at Njia Boys Secondary School in Maua, where the dormitory was destroyed by an uncontrolled blaze.

The extensive property damage is yet to be assessed, and while footage showed efforts to extinguish the flames with buckets of water, the fire persisted.

What caused Endarasha Academy fire that killed 21?

In other news, 21 students tragically lost their lives in a fire that erupted at the boys' dormitory of Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri county.

The dormitory, which housed 156 students, has left 48 of them unaccounted for. A survivor of the blaze reported that the fire was triggered by an electrical fault, with a bulb exploding and igniting the beds.

President William Ruto has called for a thorough investigation into the incident, emphasizing that those responsible must be held accountable for this devastating tragedy.
