Nairobi – A taxi driver now claims that missing Dela ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Yusuf Ahmed was abducted by five gunmen in two Prados along Enterprise Road.

Peter Wambua, a driver with the hailing app Farasi, claimed that he picked up Ahmed from South C Estate on September 13 and was headed to Pangani Heights when a white and black Prado Landcruiser suddenly blocked them.

"It was around 8.20pm when I got a request from South C. When we got to Enterprise Road, two Prados blocked my car. Five men flashed their guns and bundled my client out of the cab," Wambua said.

He made the revelations on Tuesday, September 17, when he had accompanied the missing MCA’s relatives to court.

Wajir MCA's family demands that state produce him

Meanwhile, Ahmed’s family has now moved to court and filed an application seeking the court to compel the state to produce him.

Through lawyer Danstan Omari, the family said the ward representative has been missing since Friday.

"Ahmed has been missing from South B estate since the night of 13th September 2024, when he was forcefully removed from a taxi that he had ordered from the said estate at 8 PM on the said date.
"Four days after the ordeal, nobody has accounted for his whereabouts despite there being two OBs for the incident,” read court papers seen by TUKO.co.ke.

In the application filed under a certificate of urgency, his family also wants the court to summon the Inspector General of Police and the Director of Criminal Investigation.

Abdulkadir Mohammed, who is a cousin to the MCA, said that they have a reasonable fear that unless the court intervenes and compels the state to produce him, his family will continue to live with anxiety and stress caused by the forced disappearance and abduction of their loved one without the benefit of being subjected to any legal proceedings.

How former Murang'a MCA was abducted

Previously, TUKO.co.ke reported that CCTV footage had emerged showing men dressed in tactical gear breaking into the home of former Murang’a MCA Joseph Kimani Machiri and abducting him.

The footage showed the group of armed men forcibly entering Kimani's home.

The former MCA was abducted shortly after his 39-year-old son, David Machiri Kimani, was also reportedly abducted from his home in Kiambu.
