Mombasa, Kenya – Mzee Abdulkarim Makasi, the father of the renowned Kenyan musician C’Zars, who vanished 18 years ago, passed away recently.

UK-based Kenyan journalist John Mosh Muchiri indicates that Mzee Makasi died in Mombasa after battling a prolonged illness.

C'Zars father given KSh 71k as son's YouTube royalties

In March, the Amka Ukatike singer's father was paid KSh 71,000 by Calif Records as royalties from YouTube collected over the last 10 years.

Mzee Makasi disclosed that he would keep the money safely as he believed his son would return someday and need it to restart his life.

The father noted that he knew his son deserved more but thanked God that the record label sent some royalties.
