Baringo: Nancy Asiya, a 38-year-old woman, has returned to school 17 years after dropping out, challenging societal norms.

Why did Asiya drop out of school?

The mother of six revealed that she completed primary school in 2006 and enrolled in high school but dropped out before finishing.

In an interview with NTV, Asiya shared that she entered a relationship and became pregnant, leading her to leave school and get married, which dramatically changed her life.

"I figured that life raising children without money and a job is really hard," Asiya said.

She explained that the difficulties she endured pushed her to go back to school. She added that she was able to convince her husband to pay for her school fees at Akoret High School.

"I asked my husband to allow me to go to school so our lives may be different in the future. I'm 36, and I sit in the same classroom with 15-year-olds, but I am happy," she said.

Mother returns to school after giving birth to 5 kids

In a separate incident, a woman who returned to school after giving birth to her children had gone viral online.

In the trending video, the woman wore a white shirt when she finished her examination and signed out from school.

The video showed people using markers to sign congratulatory messages on her white shirt. It was posted by @edison.com00, who said the woman was his mother and noted how proud he was of her.

He said his mother had given birth to five children before returning to school to further her education.

Netizens who were quick to respond to the video congratulated the woman for choosing to go for her dreams even after she gave birth.
