Nairobi - Former assistant minister and former Bomachoge Chache MP Simon Ogari Arama dies aged 68.

When did Simon Ogari Arama die?

The two-time ODM legislator passed away at his home in Karen, Nairobi, at around 5am on Tuesday, September 10.

Family sources said the former lawmaker succumbed to a long illness at his Karen home in Nairobi.

"He is no more, he breathed his last at around 5am. He succumbed to a long illness. Police are here will give more details once we are done with them," a family member said.

Ogari Arama, a close ally of veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga, served in parliament for the 10th and 11th parliaments between 2008 and 2017.

How the former Banisa MP died

Elsewhere, then Banisa Constituency Member of Parliament Kullow Maalim Hassan breathed his last on Tuesday, March 28, while receiving treatment at Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi, his family confirmed.

Admitted to ICU, the lawmaker was involved in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident in Nairobi's South B Estate on Saturday, March 25. He succumbed to injuries.

Hassan was elected to lead the constituency in Mandera in 2017 under the Economic Freedom Party (EFP) ticket. He defended his seat in 2022 on a UDM ticket.
