Brazilian influencer Suellen Carey, known for marrying herself after failing to find a suitable partner, has filed for divorce one year later over loneliness in the marriage.

According to Dictionary.com, sologamy is the practice or state of marriage to one’s self.

Carey married herself as an act of self-love, but after drawing a lot of attention and love because of it, she has since cited dissatisfaction with it as well.

Times of India reports that after going for 10 therapy sessions, she decided to end the marriage altogether.

According to the influencer, she put in a lot of effort but it never worked out; she said she had a lot of expectations on herself which she couldn't meet and was exhausted.

"Self-analysis and reflection are necessary," she said.

She added her sologamy and commitment to herself had many challenges. Although the year was difficult for her, she took it as an opportunity to understand and work on herself more.

Carey is now more open to loving someone else.
