He added that the landslide occurred a few minutes past 9.00 pm.

Peter is the firstborn

According to Peter's sister, Veronica Wambui, they had been hopeful that they would find him alive from 8 pm until very late.

"We were so hopeful that we would find him alive. It has now rained, and the rescue mission has been suspended. We are hoping we will see him tomorrow because we feel so desperate and we just want to see him," Veronica told Paxons TV on YouTube.
"We have felt so bad because the rescue mission has been disrupted yet we have been waiting to see him all day. We don't know what to do because we can't wait while there is a risk of another landslide to happen," added the lady who was flanked by two other sisters.

The three decided to go home and wait for rescue efforts to continue the following day

10 people trapped in rubble

In another story, a building that had been earmarked for demolition collapsed on Tuesday, May 14, in the afternoon, leaving 10 people trapped.

Rescue operations to save individuals, including children who were trapped, were taking place as relatives waited anxiously.

The building's collapse followed a similar recent incident that trapped an unknown number of people in Mathare Area 2.
