He, however, noted that he is yet to finish up the interior of the car to add a sound system and some wiring.

Future plans for Athi River youth

Saota said he is looking for sponsors and people who can invest in his idea to make more cars.

He noted that his dream is to have a fully functional workshop where he will make disability-friendly solar-energy vehicles.

“I want companies like Toyota to see the kind of work I do so that they can invest in my business. The end goal is to have a workshop and make cars for persons with disabilities,” the mechanic stated.

The self-made engineer told TUKO.coke that he could sell the car for KSh 500,000 once he gets a vehicle’s engine.

“Right now, it is using a motorbike’s engine, but I plan to have one for the vehicle fitted soon,” he said.
